Swimming in Papa's pool
Alexander's birthday party was this weekend. After all the guests left and things settled down we went swimming in the pool. It was a lot of fun, Daddy even took me down the slide.

The car in the food court
Mason spent all of lunch squirming in his high chair today. I couldn't figure out what it was that was causing him to pass up chicken nuggets. Then it hit me, the car in the middle of the food court. So after he finally finished some food I conceded and we rode the car. Of course he loved it as usual. The problem was getting him out when the ride ended. He locked his knees and tried to sink into the car so I wouldn't pull him out. Eating at the mall will never be peaceful again!
The first video shows him desperately wanting the ride to start and the second one is his delight once it started.

Lemon Slices
Tight places
Buddies
Mason has been spending more time with Silas the last couple of weeks, especially through he nursery at church. They love to share goldfish, Cheerios and other snacks. Silas is almost 14 months older, but Mason loves him. What is even more special about it is that Silas' dad, Daniel, was one of Tim's best friends growing up. Mason loves to grab Silas and give him hugs, and Silas is pretty cool with Mason.

Fox in Socks
Everyone who comes into our home to play with Mason has the joy of reading the story "Fox in Socks" by Dr. Seuss. Tonight Drew got his chance to read the book to Mason. The clip is a little long, but it's hysterical to see Mason trying to read, smiling at the story and Drew reading the book. Just to let you know, he didn't make it through the book :)
Goldfish and sharing
Mason has discovered the new snack of baby Goldfish. He loves them. One of the things he loves is the crunching noise he makes when he eats them. I think he loves the noise more than the snack. Either way, he is most willing to share his happiness with his best pal Mocha. Below are some pictures from their afternoon snack and a video of his chomping away.

Fourth of July
Burgers, hot dogs, toddlers, parents, toys and potato salad completed our first Fourth of July with little man. Mason was such a gracious host to all his little friends and everyone had a great day. Mason really is our little firecracker. He loved hanging out with friends, splashing in the baby pool and chowing down with his buddies. We didn't make it to see fireworks, but that's ok, all the noise would have probably scared him anyway.
9 Months Old
9 months of pregnancy crawled by some days. I remember wondering if Mason was ever going to show up. Now that he's already 9 months old I find myself wondering where the time has gone. He's already cutting his fourth tooth and he is itching to crawl. Each day I spend with him holds its special treasures. I watched him in his crib sleeping last night and just thanked God for the chance to see his precious little face. It's amazing everyday to watch my little man grow, learn, and discover the world around him. I am also so thankful to be able to sustain this life for the past 18 months, because as I see it, he's blessed my life for 18 months, not just 9.
Stats for the month: 19 pounds 10 ounces and 29 inches long.

Picture Party
We had a chaotic day for a nine month occasion. All of Mason's friends came over and played, had lunch and took pictures with their mommies. While it was a lot of fun, Mason was a little overwhelmed at first. He also got a bit frustrated when he saw the big kids able to play with his toys and trucks and move around and he was stuck in one area. But he loved playing with the props!

First hair cut....
Nana was intent on getting Mason a hair cut. So Friday, in the midst of all of her errands, we took Mason to Lollipops to get his first haircut. He really did great. It wasn't that he desperately needed a hair cut, but his adorable little cowlick was getting covered by the hair growing over top of it. So in an effort to appease Nana and keep Mason's cowlick showing we took him for his first cut. There was a little boy screaming his head off when we entered and that didn't help Mason's confidence in the experience, but the opportunity to ride a car (barber chair) helped his spirits. He did great till he realized something was going on at the top of his head and he couldn't touch it, and then he let out a wail!!!! Either way, the first hair cut is out of the way, his adorable cowlick is showing again, and Nana is happy to be there for the first hair cut. Oh the things we do as mothers....
Money Mooch
Nana had to go back home on Saturday, and after 6 weeks of uninterrupted spoiling by a very doting Nana, Mason couldn't help but take advantage of Nana one last time. As she was looking for some last minute cash and her ticket, Mason went for her wallet and looked for some cash. I think he's figured out that he owns Nana's heart and wallet.....
