The first month

The first month. Man the days creapt by and flew all at the same time. Some days I was so tired and others were a piece of cake. The first night you were home you cried uncontrollably, apparently you were sore from the circumcision. We had no idea what caused it and were in fear it was colic, gas or something more serious. We never knew fear like that before. It just broke my heart.

You did really wonderful with breastfeeding, man did you love food! It took us a couple of days to figure it out. We spent hours in the hospital learning how the process worked and you were a bit stubborn about it. You would only eat in a certain direction for the longest time. But we figured things out and you picked up the lost ounces fast, quickly growing out of all those tiny newborn clothes. By one month you were 11 pounds 2 ounces and 23 inches long. Growing was your specality. Nana stayed and helped us out till you were three weeks old. By the time she left you were eating 8-10 times a day, sleeping 6 hour stretches at night and wearing three month clothes. You were also kind enough to start sharing smiles. We were tired, but wouldn't complain because you were amazing!
